Not much to say about this less-than-three minute animated British comedy short.
Family Day Out is the story of a family’s day trip to the seaside, narrated by the daughter. Though it has the trappings (including cheesy, cheerful music) of a heartwarming G-rated tale of family fun, its ironic humor lies in the fact that really it’s about physical abuse, emotional abuse, accidents, gross physical ailments and disabilities, etc. It’s not a family you’d want to encounter on holiday; far less is it a family you’d want to be a member of.
Relative to this type of humor, it’s OK but nothing special.
